Almond Crusted Honey Cake

Almond Crusted Honey Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 package Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup strong coffee, cold
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons orange peel
  • 1 tablespoon lemon peel
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Grease and flour 12 cup fluted tube pan
  3. Sprinkle with almonds
  4. In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients at low speed until moistened, beat 2 minutes at highest speed
  5. Pour into prepared pan
  6. Bake for 55 - 70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
  7. Cool upright in pan 15 minutes, invert onto serving plate
  8. Cool completely

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup cold strong coffee
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 1 tablespoon lemon peel
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

Heat oven to 325°, Grease and flour 12 cups fluted tube pan. Sprinkle with almonds in large bowl. Combine remaining ingredients at low speed until moistened, beat 2 minutes at highest speed into prepared pan. Bake at 325° for 55 to 70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool upright in pan 15 minutes, invert onto serving plate. Cool completely (over).
