Almond Crusted Chocolate Torte

Almond Crusted Chocolate Torte

Cook Time: 7 minutes
Additional Time: 6 hours
Total Time: 6 hours 7 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 cup chilled whipping cream
  • 1 quart chocolate ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon rum flavoring

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet
  2. Stir in flour, sugar, and almonds
  3. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is golden and crumbly, about 6 - 8 minutes
  4. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture and pat remaining crumb into greased 9" pan
  5. Freeze 3 hours
  6. Beat whipping cream in chilled bowl
  7. Soften ice cream slightly and quickly fold run and whipped cream into ice cream
  8. Spoon into crumb lined pan
  9. Freeze for 1 hour
  10. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture
  11. Return to freezer for 2 hours

Almond Crusted Chocolate Torte (VRP 034)

  • 1 qt chocolate ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon rum flavouring

Instructions

Melt butter in large skillet stir in flour, sugar and almonds. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is golden and crumbly. 6 to 8 minutes. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture, put remaining crumb into greased 9inches pan. Freeze 3 hours. Beat cream in chilled bowl. Softed ice cream slightly, quickly fold rum and whipped cream into ice cream. Spoon into crumb line pie. Freeze 1 hour. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture. Return to freezer for 2 hours.
