Almond Crusted Chocolate Torte

Almond Crusted Chocolate Torte
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped slivered almonds, toasted
- 1 cup chilled whipping cream
- 1 quart chocolate ice cream
- 1 tablespoon rum flavoring
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large skillet
- Stir in flour, sugar, and almonds
- Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is golden and crumbly, about 6 - 8 minutes
- Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture and pat remaining crumb into greased 9" pan
- Freeze 3 hours
- Beat whipping cream in chilled bowl
- Soften ice cream slightly and quickly fold run and whipped cream into ice cream
- Spoon into crumb lined pan
- Freeze for 1 hour
- Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture
- Return to freezer for 2 hours

Almond Crusted Chocolate Torte (VRP 034)
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup chopped slivered almonds toasted
- 1 cup chilled whipped cream
- 1 qt chocolate ice cream
- 1 tablespoon rum flavouring
Instructions
Melt butter in large skillet stir in flour, sugar and almonds. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is golden and crumbly. 6 to 8 minutes. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture, put remaining crumb into greased 9inches pan. Freeze 3 hours. Beat cream in chilled bowl. Softed ice cream slightly, quickly fold rum and whipped cream into ice cream. Spoon into crumb line pie. Freeze 1 hour. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture. Return to freezer for 2 hours.
